Double Indemnity

A truly special one-off poster with a personal history, for a film widely regarded as one of the greatest of all-time, and one of the most influential film noirs, Billy Wilder's "Double Indemnity" was released in 1944. This original one-sheet poster was produced for the 1944 theatrical release of the classic starring Fred MacMurray, Barbara Stanwyck, and Edward G. Robinson. The film was nominated for 7 Academy Awards and was a great hit upon release.

This stunning US One-Sheet poster comes with remarkable provenance as it was the femme-fatale Phyllis Dietrichson herself Barbara Stanwyck's own personal copy of the poster. The poster is accompanied by a 2010 Bonhams & Butterfields letter signed by Margaret Barrett, then Director of Entertainment Memorabilia. The letter confirms that the poster was consigned directly by the Estate of Larry Kleno, Barbara Stanwyck's longtime publicist, and records the estate executor's statement that Stanwyck personally gifted the poster to Kleno. This exceptional provenance provides a remarkable direct connection between the poster and one of Hollywood's most iconic and celebrated actresses.

Each frame is made from high quality solid oak and the artwork is available to be framed with or without a surrounding white mount to make the poster stand out even more. Our frames are custom built to order in our UK workshop, and so we work to 7-14 working days lead time for dispatch. Please note that due to their custom nature, frames are non-refundable with the exception of if they are damaged or incorrect. The frame size is the size of the poster plus an additional 70mm on each side if including a mount.

Unframed posters are shipped to the UK next day courier delivery free of charge. Framed posters can take up to 14 working days for dispatch for the frame to be built and poster to be framed.
