Originally released in 1950, "Father of the Bride" was directed by Vincente Minnelli and stars Spencer Tracy, Elizabeth Taylor and Joan Bennett. Tracy plays Stanley Banks, a devoted father whose orderly life is thrown into comic disarray when his daughter announces her engagement and the family begins planning an increasingly elaborate wedding.
A major box-office success, the film became one of MGM's best-loved domestic comedies and earned Academy Award nominations including Best Picture and Best Actor for Tracy. This original US one-sheet was issued for the film's 1962 theatrical re-release and remains in very good condition, offering collectors an authentic piece of classic Hollywood and Elizabeth Taylor history.
