Released in 1969, "Oh! What a Lovely War" is a satirical musical directed by Richard Attenborough in his feature directorial debut. Featuring an extraordinary ensemble cast including Maggie Smith, Dirk Bogarde, John Gielgud, John Mills, Laurence Olivier, Michael Redgrave, Vanessa Redgrave and Susannah York, the film retells the First World War through period songs, theatrical spectacle and bitter irony.

Adapted from Joan Littlewood's landmark stage production, the film has endured as one of British cinema's most distinctive anti-war works and won several major honours, including BAFTA awards. This original US one-sheet poster was produced for the film's original theatrical release.
