Featuring typical pop-culture references, this this beautiful poster is taken from the exhibition “Warhol, Viaggio in Italia” at the Museo dell’Automobile in Turin, held in 1996-97. The artwork design featuring Batman is taken from the artwork for Warhol’s unauthorised 1964 film “Batman Dracula” which was shown at his exhibitions at the time.
Big by design and size, the vibrant poster is a great example of Warhol’s long & controversial career focussing on pop culture & celebrity, with the use of the Batman imagery not authorised by DC Comics at the time. This piece is in mint condition and backed on museum-quality linen to ensure its preservation for the years to come.
