Collection: Original Vintage Travel & Tourism Posters

There is no single test that works for every travel poster. We look at the issuer, artist, printer, dimensions, paper, printing method and known campaign history together. Those details are more reliable than broad rules about paper weight or visible ageing, which vary considerably between periods and printers.

Artist, destination, issuer, date, format, rarity, condition and collector demand can all play a part. A famous railway or airline campaign may attract attention, but there is no universal formula and posters should not be treated as guaranteed investments.

Some people collect a destination they know, while others follow an airline, railway company, country, artist or period. You can also ignore those categories entirely and collect images that work together visually. Travel posters are broad enough that all of those approaches can produce a coherent collection.
