With beautiful artwork from Rene Bouvard, this 1949 poster for "Cie Gle Transatlantique", or the "Compagnie Generale Transatlantique" shows an ocean liner sailing through the clear night with colourful fireworks filling the sky and accordingly reads "C'est toujours Fete" or "It's always a party".
The Compagnie Generale Transatlantique was a French shipping company founded in 1855 that gained worldwide prominence with its ocean liners in the early 20th century. This brilliant piece is the larger size of the design and is in mint condition and linen backed to ensure its preservation for the decades to come.
