With artwork from German-American artist Peter Max this stunning and rare poster from 1969 promotes Continental Airlines routes to Hawaii. Depicting a psychedelic scene of a surfer riding a wave in front of a lush forest and erupting volcano, this poster is a true mid-century marvel, capturing the flower power vibe of the swinging 60s and the golden age of aviation.
Founded in 1934 as Varney Speed Lines, Continental Airlines grew into one of America's major carriers before merging with United Airlines in 2010.This piece is in near mint condition and is a wonderful piece of aviation and advertising history.
