The 1984 French Open was a tennis tournament that took place on the outdoor clay courts at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France. The tournament was held from late May until early June. It was the 88th staging of the French Open, and the second Grand Slam tennis event of 1984. Ivan Lendl and Martina Navratilova won the men's and women's singles respectively, defeating John McEnroe and Chris Evert in the finals.
Roland Garros is well known for its stunning posters for each event, hiring notable artists to compose the artworks. This edition was created by the iconic poster artist Razzia, best known for his art deco style collaborations with the likes of Louis Vuitton. With wonderful colour, the minimal shapes and silhouettes make this a stunning piece of art and sport history.
