Roland-Garros, also known as the French Open, is one of tennis's four Grand Slam tournaments and is played each year on the clay courts of Stade Roland-Garros in Paris.
This original poster was created by French artist Jacques Monory for the 1985 tournament. Roland-Garros has commissioned a different artist to create its official tournament poster each year since 1980, making the series particularly popular with both tennis and poster collectors.
The 1985 tournament saw Mats Wilander win the men's singles title, defeating Ivan Lendl in the final, while Chris Evert won the women's singles title against Martina Navratilova.
