Originally released in 1962, "In Search of the Castaways" is a sweeping Walt Disney adventure directed by Robert Stevenson and starring Maurice Chevalier, Hayley Mills, George Sanders, Wilfrid Hyde-White and Michael Anderson Jr. Based on Jules Verne’s "Captain Grant’s Children", the story follows a globe-spanning expedition launched after a message in a bottle offers clues to the whereabouts of a missing sea captain.
The film was the third of six Disney features starring Hayley Mills and became a major commercial success. Its combination of exotic locations, large-scale natural disasters, family adventure and songs by the Sherman Brothers has made it an enduring favourite among admirers of classic Disney live-action filmmaking.
This original US one-sheet was issued for the film’s 1970 theatrical re-release.
