One of the most iconic designs of the early 20th century, this stunning art deco poster designed by the iconic French-Italian poster artist Leonetto Cappiello was created to promote Nil Cigarettes of France.
Released in 1912, the poster was created to promote Nil cigarettes and features a bold, simplified figure of a sheet adorned Elephant against a dark background, using dramatic colour contrast and visual wit to seize attention instantly—an approach that helped redefine modern advertising. Best known for his visually stunning designs in the early 20th century for many liquor and fashion brands, Cappiello is regarded as one of the greatest poster artists of all time. This extra large piece is in mint condition and backed on linen to ensure its preservation for the decades to come.
