Originally released in 1957, "Old Yeller" is a Walt Disney family drama directed by Robert Stevenson and starring Dorothy McGuire, Fess Parker, Tommy Kirk and Kevin Corcoran. Set in post-Civil War Texas, the film follows young Travis Coates and the stray yellow dog who gradually earns his love while protecting the family farm from danger.
Based on Fred Gipson’s Newbery Honor-winning novel, the film became one of Disney’s most enduring and emotionally powerful live-action classics. Its honest treatment of responsibility, loss and growing up has left a lasting impression on generations of viewers, and it was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in 2019.
This original US one-sheet was issued for the film’s 1965 theatrical re-release. Featuring evocative artwork focused on the bond between Travis and Yeller, the poster is a great piece of one of Disney’s most beloved family films.
