Roy Lichtenstein - Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

This beautiful poster is for Roy Lichtenstein's exhibition at the iconic Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York in 1969 and features an original artwork by Lichtenstein for the poster itself. This wonderful design is a limited edition screen print of 3000 and marked the artists first solo exhibition at the famous gallery.

Roy Lichtenstein was an American pop artist. During the 1960s, along with Andy Warhol, Johns, and James Rosenquist among others, he became a leading figure in the new art movement through. His work defined the premise of pop art through parody. Inspired by the comic strip, Lichtenstein produced precise compositions that documented while they parodied, often in a tongue-in-cheek manner.
