Silence

Released in 2016, "Silence" is a historical drama directed by Martin Scorsese and adapted from Shūsaku Endō’s acclaimed novel. Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver play two 17th-century Portuguese Jesuit priests who travel to Japan in search of their missing mentor, portrayed by Liam Neeson, while confronting persecution and profound tests of faith.

Developed by Scorsese over more than twenty-five years, the film was widely praised for its moral seriousness, performances and austere visual beauty. It was named among the year’s best films by both the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review, while Rodrigo Prieto’s cinematography earned an Academy Award nomination.

This original US one-sheet was produced for the film’s original 2016 theatrical release.
