Collection: ORIGINAL VINTAGE FRENCH OPEN ROLAND GARROS POSTERS

Roland-Garros has one of the most interesting poster traditions in sport. Since 1980, the French Tennis Federation has commissioned a contemporary artist to create the official poster for each edition of the tournament, beginning with Valerio Adami. The series has since become a visual history of the Paris Grand Slam, with each artist approaching tennis, movement, clay and the atmosphere of the tournament differently.

That makes the posters interesting beyond tennis alone: they sit somewhere between sporting ephemera and contemporary art. This collection brings together original Roland-Garros posters from different years and artists. Each listing identifies the year, artist, format and condition of the individual example.

If you are building a collection around an event, artist or period rather than simply a sport, our collecting guide has more on the different ways a poster collection can develop.
