Released theatrically in 1970, "Dad... Can I Borrow the Car?" is a Walt Disney comedy featurette directed by Ward Kimball and narrated by Kurt Russell. Using a mixture of live action, animation, montage and documentary-style observation, the film humorously examines the relationship between American teenagers, automobiles and the excitement of learning to drive.
The production is notable for the experimental visual style associated with Kimball, one of Disney’s celebrated Nine Old Men. An expanded version later aired on "The Wonderful World of Disney" in 1972, helping the featurette become a nostalgic favourite for viewers who remember its playful depiction of car culture and teenage independence.
This original US one-sheet was produced for the featurette’s 1970 theatrical release.
