Collection: ORIGINAL VINTAGE RARE POSTERS

Rarity in posters is more complicated than simply being old. A particular title may survive in one country but be difficult to find in another; one format may have been printed in much smaller numbers; an early issue can be very different from a later re-release; and posters that were heavily used may simply have had a lower survival rate.

This collection brings together original posters we consider particularly unusual, scarce or notable within the wider catalogue. We avoid treating “rare” as a catch-all sales word: each poster is described on its own merits, with the issue, date, format, condition and relevant background set out wherever known.

Our collecting guide looks at rarity alongside condition, subject, designer and the other things that can make an original poster interesting to collect.
