Collection: ORIGINAL VINTAGE SUMMER POSTERS

Summer is less a poster category than a mood. Travel companies sold beaches and resorts, drinks brands sold refreshment, sporting events moved outdoors and designers had every excuse to use bright colour. Put together, those posters make a particularly cheerful route through different periods of graphic design.

This collection brings together original travel, sport, advertising, art and cultural posters with a distinctly summery feel. They are connected by subject and atmosphere rather than by a single date or format, so the individual listing remains the place to find the poster's precise year, origin, format and condition.

If collecting by colour, season or atmosphere appeals more than following a single genre, our collecting guide is deliberately open-minded about it.
