Iconic Italian liqueur brand Campari hired the renowned French-Italian poster designer Leonetto Cappiello to create a number of varied designs across the early part of the 20th century.
Campari was formed in 1860 by Gaspare Campari and the aperitif is as popular today as ever. Gaspare's son Davide Campari transformed the company into what it is widely recognised as today in 1926. Iconic designer and innovator Cappiello is known for his works with the likes of Campari, Thermogene, and Maurin Quina.
This beautiful poster is perhaps the most rare of designs, depicting the Italian clown figure Perriot, well known across Europe from pantomimes originating in the 17th century. This stunning poster is in mint condition and is extra large in size. The poster has been linen backed to ensure its preservation for the decades to come.
