This original 1983 poster was created for Hockney Paints the Stage at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Featuring Ravel's Garden, David Hockney's design for L'Enfant et les sortilèges, the colourful image shows a magical garden filled with wonderfully imaginative trees and figures. The exhibition ran from November 1983 to January 1984.
David Hockney has become one of Britain's most celebrated artists through a career of constant experimentation. From painting and drawing to photography, printmaking and stage design, his work combines an instantly recognisable personal style with a remarkable curiosity about the way we see.
