This original 1955 US half-sheet combines a large blue portrait of James Dean with the familiar red-jacket figure and scenes from the film. Its horizontal format gives the imagery room to unfold, with Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo credited beneath the title.
Nicholas Ray’s drama follows Jim Stark as he struggles to find his place among family and friends in a new town. Dean’s performance and the film’s sensitive treatment of teenage uncertainty helped give it a lasting place in cinema history.
