This original 2013 exhibition poster from the National Gallery of Australia features Roy Lichtenstein's Reflections on the Scream. The image uses bands of pattern and reflected light to interrupt the view, showing the artist's distinctive Pop treatment of pictures within pictures. A wonderful example of the graphic clarity that made his work so recognisable.
Roy Lichtenstein was one of the leading figures of American Pop Art. Taking inspiration from comic strips, advertising and commercial printing, he developed his distinctive use of bold outlines, bright colour and dots, bringing everyday visual language into the world of fine art.
