Saint Joan

A true mid-century marvel and wonderful piece of cinema and design history from the 20th century, this first release US One-Sheet poster for the great Otto Preminger's "Saint Joan" features brilliant artwork from the great Saul Bass. Released in 1958, the acclaimed film was based on George Bernard Shaw's classic play, starring Jean Seberg in her breakthrough role as Joan of Arc.

A graphic designer and Oscar-winning filmmaker, Bass worked with Alfred Hitchcock on multiple films, as well as the likes of Kubrick, Scorsese and Wilder. This legendary poster & true mid century marvel by the master Bass is exceptionally rare and from the first original promotion of the film in 1958 and marks one of several collaborations between Bass and Preminger. This striking piece is in fantastic condition and backed on linen to ensure its preservation for the decades to come.
