Designed by the concert poster artists Paul Kagan and David Smith this beautiful poster was created in 1968 to promote a live concert of Taj Mahal at the world famous Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, with the legendary Dave van Ronk and Family Tree also on the billing. Events such as this were well known for their now iconic poster art, often vibrant & psychedelic from San Francisco venues in the 1960s & 70s. The venue was best known for hosting the likes of the Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Santana.
This brilliant first-edition poster is in great condition and looks fantastic framed, with vibrant colour.
