Mike Nichols’ 1975 black comedy "The Fortune" stars Warren Beatty and Jack Nicholson as two hopelessly ill-equipped schemers pursuing a wealthy heiress, played by Stockard Channing. Taking place in the 1920s, the film follows their increasingly chaotic efforts to exploit her money while attempting to work around restrictive federal law.
The production united Nichols with two defining actors of the New Hollywood era and gave Channing her first starring film role. Although unconventional in tone, the film has remained notable for its unusual combination of screwball comedy, period detail and darkly comic crime, as well as the chemistry of its high-profile cast.
This original US one-sheet was created for the film’s first 1975 theatrical campaign.
