ORIGINAL VINTAGE 1960s POSTERS

The 1960s produced an unusually broad mix of film, travel, art, music and advertising posters. Collectors tend to look at the specific design, artist or campaign, country and format, as well as the condition of the individual copy. Age alone does not make one poster more important than another.

It depends on the type of poster and how it was distributed. Many cinema posters were folded as issued, while exhibition, travel and advertising posters may be found rolled or flat. Original folds are not automatically a fault; each listing records how that particular poster has survived.

We identify the physical poster rather than relying on the image alone. Date, format, printer or issuer, paper, printing method and release history can all help distinguish a period original from a later reproduction. The individual listing sets out what we know about each example.
