Jacques Grognet’s bold design brings the viewer almost level with the wheel of a Formula One car in this original poster for the 1985 Monaco Grand Prix. The dramatic crop, red-and-white bodywork and sweeping blue background create a terrific sense of speed, with the race details set clearly above the action.
The Monaco circuit offers a remarkable contrast between the glamour of its setting and the precision demanded by its tight streets. Alain Prost won the 1985 race for McLaren-TAG, continuing a championship season that would bring him his first world title. Grognet’s design captures the confidence and colour of that memorable era of Formula One.
