Brian Bysouth’s exuberant artwork packs the world of Big Trouble in Little China into one spectacular painted montage. Kurt Russell’s Jack Burton leads a riot of characters, creatures and action, with the glowing title holding the whole composition together. This British poster was produced for the film’s original 1986 release.
John Carpenter mixed martial-arts adventure, supernatural fantasy and comedy into a film with a personality entirely its own. Bysouth’s richly detailed illustration is a perfect match for that energy. One of Britain’s outstanding cinema poster artists, he had a gift for combining recognisable stars with the atmosphere of the story, creating designs that reward a closer look.
