Featuring his 1969 painting "Study for Bullfight no 1", this beautiful poster advertises the Nimes Feria 1992. The Nimes Feria is a major Spanish-style cultural festival in southern France, centred on bullfighting events held in the city’s Roman arena. Blending tradition, music, and street celebrations, it remains a defining symbol of Nimes’ regional identity and spectacle.
The figurate painter was best known for his unsettling imagery depicting the human form and after a late blossoming career, his works have continued to grow in value & stature. This wonderful piece is in mint condition and backed on linen to ensure its preservation for the decades to come.
