This beautiful screenprinted poster features Tom Wesselmann's Seascape design for Art Miami. The sweeping lines and bright colour give the coastline a wonderfully clear, open composition. Catalogued as a 1991 printing, the poster promotes Art Miami '92, held from 8 to 12 January, as shown in the original lettering.
Tom Wesselmann was a leading figure in American Pop Art, known for his bold colour, confident outlines and simplified forms. Alongside his celebrated figure paintings and still lifes, his landscapes and seascapes show the same wonderful ability to turn a subject into a clear, striking composition.
