Robert Rossen's high-stakes classic "The Hustler" was released in 1961 to major commercial and critical success. Nominated for 9 Academy Awards, the film follows Paul Newman in one of his most iconic roles as "Fast" Eddie, a pool hustler determined to make it to the top. Regarded as one of the greatest films of modern times, it spawned a sequel 25 years later - "The Colour of Money" - for which Newman would finally win his Best Actor Oscar reprising his role.
This stunning vibrant pop-art design is a very rare case of a re-release poster being more sought after and valuable than the original. "The Hustler" was re-released in 1964 following the mis-marketing of the original release to enjoy even wider success, and this brilliant and rare poster was produced. This poster is in exceptional condition and is backed on linen to ensure its preservation for the decades to come.
