Awakenings

Released in 1990, "Awakenings" is a moving biographical drama directed by Penny Marshall and based on neurologist Oliver Sacks’s memoir. Robin Williams plays the shy physician Dr Malcolm Sayer, who discovers that the drug L-DOPA can temporarily awaken patients left catatonic for decades, including Leonard Lowe, played by Robert De Niro.

The film was both a critical and commercial success, admired for the compassion of its storytelling and the performances of Williams and De Niro. It received three Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor for De Niro and Best Adapted Screenplay, and remains one of the most beloved medical dramas of its era.

This original US one-sheet was issued for the film’s original 1990 theatrical release by Columbia Pictures and is in mint condition.
