Evita

Released in 1996, "Evita" is Alan Parker’s lavish film adaptation of the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, starring Madonna, Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Pryce. Told almost entirely through song, the film charts Eva Duarte’s rise from provincial obscurity to fame and political power as Eva Perón, while the narrator Ché questions the mythology surrounding Argentina’s celebrated First Lady.

The production became a major international success and was praised for Madonna’s performance, its cinematography, costumes and music. "Evita" won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "You Must Love Me" and three Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Actress for Madonna, securing its place among the defining screen musicals of the 1990s.

This original US one-sheet was issued for the film’s original 1996 theatrical release.
