This beautiful 1991 poster features Gerhard Richter's Seascape, published by Achenbach Art Editions. The soft horizon, clouded sky and changing light give the image a wonderfully atmospheric quality, showing the artist's interest in the relationship between painting and photography. This is a later offset reproduction of the artwork.
Gerhard Richter's work moves between photographic imagery and abstraction, often questioning how much we can trust what an image appears to show. His varied approach has made him one of the most important and widely collected painters of the post-war period.
