Tootsie

Released in 1982, "Tootsie" is a satirical romantic comedy directed by Sydney Pollack and starring Dustin Hoffman, Jessica Lange, Teri Garr, Dabney Coleman and Charles Durning. Hoffman plays Michael Dorsey, a talented but notoriously difficult actor who disguises himself as a woman to secure a role on a television soap opera, only to find that his new identity transforms both his career and his understanding of the women around him.

The film was a major box-office and critical success, receiving ten Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor, and winning Best Supporting Actress for Jessica Lange. Celebrated for its sharp dialogue, performances and social observation, it was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in 1998 as a culturally, historically or aesthetically significant work.

This original US one-sheet poster was issued for the film’s original Columbia Pictures theatrical release in 1982.
