Released in 1985, "Target" is a spy thriller directed by Arthur Penn and starring Gene Hackman, Matt Dillon and Gayle Hunnicutt. When his wife is kidnapped during a trip to Europe, seemingly ordinary businessman Walter Lloyd travels overseas with his estranged son, who gradually discovers that his father has concealed a dangerous former life as a CIA operative.
The film reunited Hackman with Penn, the director who had previously guided him in "Bonnie and Clyde" and "Night Moves." Shot across European and American locations, "Target" blends a family drama with Cold War espionage and is particularly remembered for Hackman’s commanding central performance and the shifting relationship between father and son.
This original US one-sheet was produced for the film’s first theatrical release in 1985.
