Released in 1980, "Tribute" is a comedy-drama directed by Bob Clark and starring Jack Lemmon, Robby Benson, Lee Remick, Colleen Dewhurst and Kim Cattrall. Adapted by Bernard Slade from his own stage play, it centres on Scottie Templeton, a charismatic but irresponsible Broadway press agent who, after learning that he is seriously ill, attempts to repair his fractured relationship with his estranged son.
Lemmon’s warm and deeply affecting performance earned him nominations for both the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Actor, as well as the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film remains admired for balancing theatrical humour with an emotional story about reconciliation, family and the consequences of a life spent avoiding responsibility.
This original US one-sheet was created for the film’s first theatrical release in 1980.
