ORIGINAL VINTAGE BERNARD VILLEMOT POSTERS

Bernard Villemot could make a bottle, a shoe or a figure instantly recognisable with remarkably little information. Bold blocks of colour, simplified silhouettes and strong negative space became signatures of his work, particularly in the French advertising posters he produced from the post-war period onwards.

Villemot had long relationships with clients including Bally, Orangina and Perrier, which makes his work especially satisfying to collect as a series: the same brand could be reinvented again and again without losing his distinctive hand. This collection brings together original examples, with the client, date, format and condition described individually.
