This beautiful lithographic poster reproduces A.M. Cassandre's famous L'Atlantique design, one of the great images of the ocean-liner era. The monumental bow of the ship, dramatic perspective and carefully balanced lettering capture the scale and excitement of travel between France and South America. This example was printed in 1996 and is a later edition of the historic design.
A.M. Cassandre was one of the great graphic designers of the Art Deco period. His advertising brought together bold geometry, carefully drawn lettering and striking changes of scale, creating some of the most recognisable travel and commercial posters of the twentieth century.
